In the title compound, C(16)H(11)NO(4)S, the nine-membered fused ring is nearly planar, with maximum deviations from the mean plane of -0.022 (1) Å for the N atom and 0.011 (1) Å for the S atom, and makes a dihedral angle of 53.56 (7)° with the phenyl ring. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

In the title compound, C(19)H(17)NO(5), the dihedral angle between the phenyl groups is 79.55 (15)°. The terminal eth-oxy group is disordered over two orientations in a 0.873 (6):0.127 (6) ratio. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into [001] chains which incorporate R(1) (2)(6) loops. A very weak C-H⋯π contact also occurs.

The title compound, C(24)H(22)O(4)S, was prepared by reaction between (2E)-3-(6-meth-oxy-2-naphth-yl)-1-(2-thien-yl)prop-2-en-1-one and ethyl acetoacetate. In the crystal, the cyclo-hexenone ring shows a distorted half-chair conformation. The length of the double bond in the cyclohexenone ring [1.343 (4) Å] is normal.

In the title compound, C(12)H(12)O(4), the dihedral angle between the plane through the phenyl ring and the mean plane of the side chain is approximately 14°. The mol-ecules, which contain an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond, are linked end-to-end by weak C-H⋯O inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding contacts, forming infinite one-dimensional chain systems in the crystal structure.
